Regeneration of Public Services
In partnership with Network Rail, development is expected at Burgess Hill Train Station. The proposal is to allocate Burgess Hill Station as a mixed-use regeneration site. This site will see the development of c.300 new homes and commercial space, alongside an increase to capacity for car parking.
This development will be complemented by the range of upgrades being delivered through the Place and Connectivity Programme, improving the public realm and accessibility of the station.
One Public Estate funding was secured for Burgess Hill Station in order to undertake a feasibility study. £75k was secured for Burgess Hill Station to support the development as part of the Burgess Hill Growth Programme.
Additionally, £90k was secured for feasibility on The Brow project. Led by WSCC, this project will see the development of c.300 new homes and new accommodation for the emergency services located on the current site.

Schools & Other Community Facilities
The proposals will see a considerable investment in new community facilities across the town. The Brookleigh development will provide two new primary schools as well as a secondary school. The developments will also provide several new community hubs with local shops and services as well as a dedicated Centre for Community Sport.

The proposals will provide greater access to the countryside as well as a new network of scenic walkways and cycle routes. The Brookleigh and other developments will also provide substantial community open space, children’s play areas, allotments and sports facilities to promote a healthy lifestyle for local residents.

A major catalysts for growth and visible signs of regeneration in Burgess Hill will be NewRiver’s proposed regeneration of Burgess Hill town centre.
