Better Links To Your Town Centre

The £21.8m package of transport improvements for the town centre will deliver more sustainable transport infrastructure to improve connectivity.

This will include new and enhanced pedestrian and cycle routes linking the town centre with existing and proposed residential and employment areas across Burgess Hill with on-going links to Hassocks and Haywards Heath, more accessible pedestrian routes within the town centre as part of the £65m town centre regeneration scheme; and improvements to bus services and bus stop infrastructure.

The town centre improvements will also include improved access arrangements for Burgess Hill and Wivelsfield train stations alongside discussions with Network Rail about what further improvements can be made to improve station capacity. This will help ensure that services for commuters and residents continue to provide great links to coastal towns and London; as well as facilitating inward travel from surrounding areas with high quality links from the stations to key destinations.
