Northern Arc: Upcoming site works notification

Upcoming site works notification

John Sisk & Son Ltd will be undertaking some site clearance works from the 15th March 2021, for around three weeks. This will include the removal of trees and vegetation by the River Adur (please see figure below). This is essential for the progression of the Eastern Bridge Link Road as it will allow the construction of the bridge that will cross the River Adur, providing direct road access to Countryside’s development at Freek’s Farm from Isaacs Lane.

While the new bridge means there will be some unavoidable tree loss, the Northern Arc is committed to deliver a 23% biodiversity net gain – meaning the quality of wildlife habitats on site will be higher after the development is complete than before it was begun. New planting at the Eastern Bridge and Link Road site will help to maintain habitat connectivity for wildlife.

All works planned will be carried out under the approved licences and in accordance with the associated planning consent (DM-19-3313). Some of this work will be carried out South-east of the River using access from Freeks Farm. Due to the location of the works road closures will not be required on this occasion.

These works will be carried out between 8am-6pm.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
